UK-based artist, creating visual art with socially excluded groups / Arts Coordinator at LandWorks.
LandWorks, Arts Coordinator/Artist in Residence
February 2014 – present. LandWorks is a work-based scheme which works with people serving prison sentences to help with future employment and to build trusting relationships within the local community. The ethos of the project, working with one of the most under represented fractions of society, became integral to the concept and construction of Fragments of Society. Thanks to Grants for the Arts funding through the Arts Council England, alongside a grant from the Plymouth Fund through Plymouth University, we created a permanent land art sculpture in early 2016. Arts Council England are also funding the current project which investigates ‘overcoming feeling trapped’.
PeN Project, Arts Director
October 2016 – September 2017. The Photographic electronic Narrative (PeN) shares photographs taken by current and ex-offenders on placement at LandWorks. Working with the lead researcher and participants to curate an exhibition of the photographs, while helping to update the blog. Participants will tell their own narrative through the images, while keeping supporters and the wider community informed on what happens at LandWorks.
